The Man Who Started The Trayvon Martin Movement (DETAILS)
Kevin Cunningham is the 31-year-old Howard University student who created theChange.org petition to get George Zimmerman arrested for the shooting death ofTrayvon Martin.

When Cunningham read about the murder of Trayvon last month, he turned to Change.org to add his voice to those who were expressing outrage about the Florida police department’s handling of the case.
One month later he never thought that the petition he started would garner more than 2 million signatures and help draw international attention to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
Talking with MSNBC, Cunningham said:
"I decided to take the skills that I’ve been working on … and apply them to the situation and see how well it would work out, and it just went crazy on me. What I’ve learned through social media, you don’t have to go through institutions anymore. … Any individual with any idea can make it work if they have (a) connection to the Internet."
Cunningham is the son of activist parents and describes himself as “super Irish,” saying he learned about the Martin case when he read a story posted on a bulletin board for Men of Howard, an informal, secretive fraternity that he joined while attending the historically black Howard University as a law student.
When he suggested starting an online appeal calling for prosecution of the shooter, neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman, the proposal was met with both support and skepticism from other subscribers.
"At Howard, they tell us as soon as you get there, ‘If you’re going to be a lawyer, you’re either a social engineer or a parasite on the society.’ … that’s how I think about life … is to be a social engineer, and that’s what my parents were always trying to be," he said.
Asked whether he thought people might be surprised to learn that a white man was responsible for the petition demanding justice for a black teenager he had never met, Cunningham said he didn’t "believe in black and white."
“The only race I believe in is the human race,” he said.
Cunningham has the right attitude and his petition was the fastest growing in Change.org’s history, which goes to show that people - of every race - want justice for Trayvon. #HoodiesUp

Nas Confirms ‘Life Is Good’ Album Title; Names Producers
Nas has officially confirmed that his 10th studio album will indeed be called Life Is Good. After the jump, Nas tells Sway on MTV Rapfix Live that the LP will not have too many features. However, he revealed that the producers who have majorly contributed to the album are Salaam Remi, Heavy D, No I.D. & Da Internz.
Joe Budden Arrested In NYC At Slaughterhouse Show

New York, NY-- There was a packed house at New York City's Best Buy Theatre, but when Slaughterhouse took the stage on Thursday night there was a notable vacancy. Two songs into Slaughterhouse's set the quartet revealed that Jersey City rapper Joe Budden wouldn't take part in the night's festivities because he was arrested for a warrant stemming from a 2007 traffic violation.
Just a few minutes after 10 p.m. Joell Ortiz opened the show when he took the stage reciting his verse to the group's fan-favorite "The Illest." Long Beach, California MC Crooked I followed, but there was a visible absence. The DJ cued up "Sound Off" next and Royce da 5'9" marched out spewing his patented Detroit venom, but with three quarters of the Slaughterhouse machine on stage, Joe Budden's absence was glaring. It was then that Slaughterhouse announced their outspoken bandmate had been arrested by the NYPD.
In full support, the crowd began to shout "Joey, Joey, Joey," without any prompting from Joell, Crook or Nickel Nine.
The group then went into a portion of their infamous 2011 B.E.T. Hip-Hop Award Show cypher. Joell spit his verse and then went into his solo underground gem "Hip-Hop." Budden was missed, but the now-three-headed lyrical Shady Records monster carried on.
There was no "Pump It Up" or Mood Muzik verses, but Budden's band of brothers still repped performing their solo hits as well as posse cuts like "Microphone" and "Hammer Dance."
That didn't stop the crowd from chanting for Joe Budden. "We love Joey too, chanting for him ain't gonna get him outta jail," Royce responded.

Sinead O’Connor Goes In On Trayvon Martin, Hip-Hop and The Black Community
"I would like to extend my very deepest sympathies to the family and other loved ones of murdered teenager, Treyvon Martin," O'Connor writes. "I am very sad today (and am certain the whole of Ireland is) to learn of poor Treyvon's terrifying ordeal and horrified by the fact his known and named and admitted killer has not been arrested, despite the crime having taken place a month ago. This is a disgrace to the entire human race."
She goes on to address racism, chastising bigots for dishonoring Africa, the place she calls the birthplace of mankind.
"If you hate black people, its yourself you hate," O'Connor writes. "And the mother who bore you. If you kill or wish ill on black people, its yourself you kill and wish ill on. As well as the mother who bore you."
President Obama has called for a full investigation of the killing, and such celebrities as Spike Lee, Cher and Sean 'Diddy' Combs have lent their support to the cause. For her part, Sinead is asking people in Ireland to stand up and push for justice.
"Please.. ALL Americans should deplore this crime," O'Connor writes. "As should ALL people of ALL nations. And deplore the fact this man has not been arrested. All Irish people should do the same. And I ask that we here in Ireland should express through our American embassy that we would like to see this man arrested this very minute. Because racism is not acceptable. Nor is vigilantism. And this was very clearly in no way at all a case of self-defense."

Curren$y Suing Dame Dash For Selling Music He Didn't Have Rights To
Rapper Curren$y's music is NOT to be trifled with -- and to prove it ... the MC is suing famed music producer Damon Dash, claiming he is hocking several Curren$y albums without permission.
Curren$y filed the lawsuit against Jay-Z's old biz partner and former co-owner of Roc-A-Fella Records -- claiming he and Dash tried to negotiate an agreement to release music together in 2010 ... but the deal never materialized.
Curren$y claims Dash released two of his albums in 2010 -- but the two still couldn't reach an agreement ... so Curren$y signed with Warner Bros. in January 2011.
But according to the lawsuit, Damon was unmoved -- and CONTINUED to release Curren$y's music despite the new WB contract, which gave WB exclusive rights to Curren$y's jams.
Now, Curren$y is demanding the producer quit profiting off him in any way. Curren$y also wants $1.5 million in damages.
But Damon fired back at the accusations with his own response -- claiming, he has the right to release the albums in question because he was given permission. What's more -- Damon says Curren$y stabbed him in the back, reneging on his agreement with Damon and signing with WB instead.

ESPN bans everyone at the station from speakin on Trayvon Martin
According to four difference sources, ESPN sent out an email to the editorial side in the last 24 hours reminding them to “avoid political commentary” in the social media space. We’re told the email – which was not company-wide, but rather by department – specifically referenced the Trayvon Martin tragedy.In the email, ESPN brass gently reminded its employees to avoid discussing Martin’s death on twitter. Martin’s hoodie was mentioned.The reminder of the social media policy was not extended to ESPN’s TV arm, two sources said.Michael Smith and Trey Wingo are now wearing hoodies in their avatar.
